Trench coats are a perfect accessory to all your spring and fall looks. Perfect for the rainy season we are in right now. The following example uses clothes from Zara to display some way that trench coats can be a great addition to an outfit instead of a traditional raincoat.

I decided since it is harder to explain in multiple ways that I would discuss some tools and tricks and then show the examples that I have put together. I showcased the 3 main colours that trench coats tend to come in, and off-white, beige and green colour they are all great, however, they can all be better for different complections and styles.

1. Lighter colours will pop on darker and more red complections as the opposite goes best with darker complections. Green-coloured trench coats will bring out the red in your skin which can be both good and bad depending on your own personal feelings towards a Rosey completion.

2. The main tip to know when planning to wear a trench coat is to try not to wear a top that is too big for the sleeves or it will ruin the aesthetic of the trench coat. This is a problem as most trench coats have more fitted sleeves in comparison to the more bagging mid-section.

3. Trench coat is for more incomplex looks, not as formal, this does not mean to avoid accessories as they can add a little interest to a simple look. A layers necklace, bandana/handkerchief, or a simple purse.

Overall, these are a very versatile addition to any simple spring/fall outfit. They are entering the market this year which means that there should be a few more years of it being trendy before they slowly shift out. A purchase now would be better than next year when its a hot item.

Until next time,
