Who knew animal prints would come back -- I know we all hoped it would. Luckily it has come back in a very fashionable way. You may have seen the print used on shirts, accessories and even coats, but the most common one is a flowy skirt.
I found one that fits exactly what I had been looking for, for over a year now. There are so many ways to wear any fun printed skirt, it doesn't have to be a cheetah or animal print, however, this is a trendy common print.
Though most people don't think fall or winter are good times to wear a skirt, I beg to differ. For a colder day, it could easily be paired with a turtleneck sweater and some boots. It is even great to layer with a jean or even a leather jacket.
For a more common setting of spring and summer, there are endless ways to style a printed skirt as such. You could wear it was a white shirt tied in a knot, or with any black or neutral shirt. The print also looks good with graphics or any vintage band tee. A cheetah print is usually more neutral so it is great to pair with a fun coloured top.
Rules are made to be broken -- try styling your printed (animal or not) skirt with a printed top. If the skirt print is small or minimal like mine then a larger or more spaced out top would work, and vice versa. Playing around with patterns can be part, but those are the basic guidelines to follow when doing so.
I bought my skirt at American Eagle, I love the cut they used and the button detailing. I hope the ways I have styled the skirt inspire you with your cheetah or other prints. There are so many possibilities.
Until next time,
