Think Sustainable, Shop Sustainable

This year is the year the retailers are really starting to understand the need for a more sustainable model going forward. The fashion industry provides the majority of the units in landfills. There are many ways that we as consumers can help this problem too. We can use second-hand shops to find some clothes, as vintage clothing is in and it may even be worth more than going to a store to buy clothes that look similar.
Thrift shopping has gone up over the past few years, we also need to not only pop them tags but to donate our clothing to these stores as well. Some stores will even pay you a small amount for higher price items. Contributing your used name brand clothing can help continue to cycle and help decrease the waste being put in landfills. It also helps those that can not afford the store prices to have nice clothes.
In a previous post, I talked about how I have used old pairs of jeans to make a stylish new pair, I realize that not everyone has the time or resources to do that. That being said shopping second-hand and donating your clothes is a less time-consuming way to contribute to sustainability.
Until next time,
