Wearing all the same colour (or hue) can look very chic when done the right way. This post will attempt to showcase ways to create a well placed monochromatic look. The main hues I suggest are blue, grey, black and beige/brown as they are all more muted hues, this makes them not looks as intense when wearing more of the same hue.
Blue - Wearing all blue can be seen as the easiest way to make a monochromatic look as blue jeans can be the bottoms and can work well with anything even bluer. The first image shows navy blue leggings with a blue and white top the white adds as almost a transition for the light blue to the darker blue.
Grey - Grey is a tricky one because it can make you look very washed out. It is best to use grey patterns to add to this outfit and make it look more put together. As seen in the first picture the model in the photo wears a grey block patterned scarf this adds more to the outfit. This is also done by the use of the patterned and leather glove in the second picture.
Black - Black is one of my favourite monochromatic looks, it's best to be paired with a belt and bold jewelry. The belt can help to divide the outfit and to help with the slightly off colours as this is more noticeable in darker hues.
Beige/Brown - This style is in more than ever this year, the many tones of browns complement each other so well and can make for a comfy yet stylish look. Though the hues are muted and neutral they stand out together more than you would think.
Until next time,
